What we do
Named in Seoul creates personalized Korean names. Instead of picking random syllables, every name is matched to the sound of your given name, composed from hanja — the Sino-Korean characters that carry a name's meaning — and checked against a Four Pillars (saju) reading of your birth date, the same considerations Korean parents weigh when naming a child. One name is free, with no account. A fuller written report with four candidates is available as a paid option.
Who we are
Named in Seoul is built and run by a small independent team based in Seoul, South Korea. The naming engine, its curated syllable and hanja datasets, and the birth-chart calculations were built in-house; name pairs that appear in results are reviewed by native Korean speakers before they are allowed to represent a name. What we do not claim
Four Pillars readings are a cultural naming tradition, not a prediction of the future or a substitute for professional advice. We do not promise luck, and we do not guarantee that a Korean speaker will react to a name in any particular way. Results are educational and cultural in nature; the refund policy covers paid reports that fall short.
